Seasonal forecast are also used for crop planting, water management, and other activities that depends on long term weather trends. Another long term forecast is climate change. Scientist use climate modols to predict how climate change will effects weather pattern in the future. Some of the prediction include more extreme weather event, more drought, and rising sea levels. 

Weather models are also use for long lime predictions. One example is the seasonal forecast for EI Nino and LA Nina, those phenomenal are cause by changes in ocean temperature and they can a major impact on weather around the world. By predicting this event, scientist can help people to prepare for drought, flood and other  extreme weather event. 

One example is 2010 deep water horizon oil spill. Weather forecasting were crucial in helping to contain the spill and minimize its impact. Another example is hurricane sandy in 2012. Average forecast help to minimize the damage and save life, and finally the COVID 19 pandemic has show how weather can effect  public health. For instence some studies has show high  temperature and humidity con slow the spread of the virus. 

One challenge is that weather is chaotic and unpredictable. So even  the best model can't even predict exactly what will happen. Another challenge is that weather condition con change rapidly and unexpectedly, so forecasting can become outdated quickly and finally, different weather models can produce different result. There can be uncertainty about which model is most accurate, despite this challenges, weather forecasting has become mush more accurate and reliable over time. 

In the past,  weather forecasting was based on observation and experience. But with advert of technology forecasting has become mush more accurate and detailed for instence scientist now use satallite and radars to track storms, computer are used  to ran complex weather models. Social media has made it so easier for people to share weather information in real time. 

One example is how human activities can cause climate change. Climate is cause by the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, which can lead to global warming and can change in weather pattern, another example is how urbanization can impact weather patterns, for example cities can create their own microclimate due to heat-island effect.
